|I’m Sarina Compoz, third year principal of Southmoor Elementary. I can’t tell you how happy I am to be a part of this school and this incredible community. I began my career in education in Jefferson County. I taught sixth grade there after graduating from Adams State College in Alamosa, Colorado. |
During the ensuing years I taught first grade and reading intervention. I received my Master’s Degree and my Type D principal’s certification from Colorado State University in Fort Collins, my hometown. I was an assistant principal at Lumberg Elementary and then principal at West Woods Elementary. I moved to the Littleton Public Schools for four years and then transferred to DPS in 2011. I worked at Castro Elementary.
I have a daughter, Sophia, who makes life interesting! She is in the third grade. We like spending time as a family just hanging out, going places, or taking trips. Sophia particularly likes shopping. I enjoy sports and I am a rabid Broncos fan.
Southmoor is wonderful community. The diversity in our school and neighborhood help to make it such an interesting place to work. I enjoy sharing ideas and developing creative solutions to problems with the staff, parents, and the community at large. Guiding our school and preparing our students for the future is a real challenge and one that requires the involvement of us all. I try to be accessible to all kids and adults and to be a welcoming presence in the school, so please feel to get in touch if you have a question, concern, or even a compliment for us! I look forward to working with all of you!
|Carolyn has been teaching for 12 years, splitting her time between 1st, 3rd and 5th grade. This year, she will be coaching the literacy teachers at Southmoorl and working with small groups of students in literacy. She graduated with a degree in Early Childhood Education from Georgia Southern University and completed a Master's degree from Piedmont College in Georgia with an emphasis in Literacy Education. Her philosophy for learning is that each child is unique, and each child learns in a different way. One of her jobs as an educator is to help each child discover his or her individuality and work alongside with them to maximize it. She believes in hands-on experiences and learning creatively.||Carolyn Webb||Senior Team Lead||Carolyn_Webb@dpsk12.org|

I am originally from Richmond, Virginia. I attended Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida where I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education.
I am a certified teacher in Elementary Education with both Gifted & Talented and ESOL Endorsements. This is my first year teaching at Southmoor Elementary School! I was the long term substitute in this class last year from April through the end of the year. Prior to that, I taught a 2nd /3rd grade HGT split in Orlando, Florida. This will be my fourth year in education. I work hard each day to ensure the needs of each of my students are met by differentiating instruction in almost every subject area. I group students into small groups based on their ability and provide various learning centers around the classroom, ranging from tech savvy learning games on their Chrome Books to guided reading groups. I am also passionate about STEM math/science inquiry projects and look forward to facilitating these with your children.
Outside of teaching I enjoy yoga, dance, travel, cooking, listening to music, and watching the Seahawks! I am an avid skier and am so lucky to now live in Colorado and ski the Rocky Mountains. |My Name is Mrs. Nicole Brady! I am thrilled to be your child’s Second Grade teacher this year! This will be my 7th year teaching in DPS. Some of you may already know me (formerly as Ms. Lovseth) because I have taught kindergarten at Southmoor for the past two years. I am ready to bring my passion for literacy and project based learning to upper primary. |
I am from Keystone, Colorado where I attended Dillon Valley Elementary, Summit Middle School and then graduated from Summit High School. I grew up skiing on the slopes of Arapahoe Basin while my dad ran the ski shop and eventually joined the Summit race team. I later lived in Sarasota, Florida for a year but missed the snow so much I had to move back to Colorado. When not in the classroom, you can find me playing in the snow, or cheering on my favorite baseball teams.
I am an 8th cohort Buell Early Childhood Leadership Alumni and have a certificate in early childhood leadership from CU Denver. I am endoreced in Early Ed Special Education and will officially have my MA in Early Childhood Special Education in December. I attended MSCD, where I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Human Development with a minor in Early Childhood Education. My future goals include obtaining a doctorate in ECESE and Educational Leadership. I have developed my passion for early ed over the years by teaching preschool, teaching a Reggio Inspired kinder at an arts school in DPS, attending the Reggio Emilia Institute at Leslie University and deepening my knowledge and passion for project based learning and inquiry at Southmoor.
My classroom is a place where children are empowered to create student driven goals, learner profiles, and work to solve real world problems. My teaching philosophy is rooted in the belief that children learn most effectively when empowered by their learning, and the joy that comes with both embracing and encouraging a child’s innate sense of wonder, enthusiasm for discovery, and creativity.

|After graduating in 2014 with a Master's Degree in Elementary Education from Florida State University, I moved away from my home state of Florida to the fabulous city of Denver to pursue a teaching career. I was excited to be in a state that makes education a priority and holds both students and educators to a high standard. I taught 6th grade math at a Title 1 charter school for my first two years in Denver but my heart was at the elementary level. I am overjoyed to be starting my first year at Southmoor, teaching 3rd grade math. I hope to share my love of mathematics with all of my students this year and help every student feel confident and successful in their mathematical abilities. |
Outside of school, I can be found singing/songwriting with my older brother, hiking and skiing in the mountains, rock climbing at the gym, or just spending time relaxing with friends and family. I look forward to getting to know all of my students and the Southmoor community this year!

|A Rutgers and SMU graduate, I am originally from New Jersey. After living in Oregon, Iowa and Texas, we settled in Colorado and I don't think I will ever leave! I have been teaching for 20+ years and this is my 3rd year at Southmoor Elementary. (11 years as a parent!) Prior to coming to Southmoor, I taught in the History Department at Metropolitan State University of Denver and at The Pingry School in New Jersey where I taught 7-12th grades. As an empath myself, I understand the social-emotional needs of gifted students across the board, as well as what makes them tick academically. I think compassion, patience and understanding are the key to helping students succeed. I believe students learn best through experience, hands-on activities, and through interactions with their peers. |
When I am not busy teaching, I enjoy raising my three lovely daughters alongside my husband Scott. I also enjoy traveling, hiking, theater, cooking, reading, and music. I play the piano and the harp, and I play percussion in an all-women rock band!

|Hello all, my name is Madison Stockton. I am beyond thrilled to be joining the amazing Southmoor team. Understanding and interacting with children has been a passion of mine for a huge chunk of my life. All children are natural learners who are so genuinely curious about the world that surrounds them.
