Dear Southmoor Families, and Community,
Welcome to the 2021-2022 school year. It is with great joy and excitement we open our doors to each and every student at Southmoor Elementary School.
This year is an opportunity for us to live our vision in promoting the holistic development of ALL Southmoor students in a diverse, equity centered and inclusive school environment. This year is an opportunity for us to take what we have learned, anchor our work with a high level of care and belongingness, and commit to take action in becoming a resilient school. Our commitment to the work this year is grounded in our connection, acceleration and support.
Connection: We are committed to establishing deeper relationships through a high level of care, belongingness and multiple touchpoints. Through these meaningful relationships, we aim to establish a safe and secure learning environment where every student thrives both socially, emotionally and academically.
Acceleration: We will prioritize critical learning for our students leveraging an asset based approach in understanding and building on what they know and being able to do and engaging them in a variety of tasks that enable them to develop conceptual understanding and make connections with their learning.
Support: With a deep understanding of the impact of the disruption in their learning due to the pandemic, we will intensify our care and support to promote the success of our students. We will develop meaningful partnerships with stakeholders in your child’s education ensuring a high level of customer service.
