Dear Southmoor Elementary Families,
Welcome back to another school year at Southmoor Elementary! The first day of school for ECE and kindergarten through fifth grade students is Wednesday, August 19, 2009. All kindergarten students will attend only morning sessions for the first three days of school, August 19, 20, 21 (kindergarten dismissal will be 11:40 a.m. for these three days). Full day kindergarten will begin Monday August 25, 2008.
In addition to our returning staff members, we welcome our new staff members for the 2009 – 2010 school year!
• Ms. Shana Holden – Humanities Facilitator, half-time
• Ms. Careth Wilson – Intervention Teacher, half-time
• Mary Ellen Cammilleri, ESL Resource Teacher, half-time
• Emily Jones – School Psychologist
At Southmoor we will continue to build upon the strong partnership between community and school that has made us a school of tradition and excellence. We look forward to enriching our school community with the new families that will be joining us during the 2009-2010 school year, and welcome back our families who are returning to Southmoor. We will work and plan together in our constant pursuit of continuing excellence, and providing our students with the quality education for which our school is known.
We welcome the freshness of a new year with its opportunities and challenges. I join the entire staff at Southmoor thanking all of you for the opportunity to work with your student and family. Together, we can accomplish success!
