What is DEIB?
DEIB stands for Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging. At Southmoor, DEIB is an advocacy team committed to promoting an equity-centered school and community culture. DEIB works in partnership with the school’s leadership staff, the Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) and the Collaborative School Committee (CSC).

2. Volunteer
Keep our Food Pantry program stocked and/or help fill backpacks each week.
Welcome and engage families at our Board Game nights in November, January and February.
Join the planning team, host a country table, bring food bites and more to make the annual Multicultural Night Celebration a success! Save the date for Thursday, May 15, 2025.
3. Share your input, ideas, resources and support for helping make Southmoor more equitable and welcoming for ALL students, staff and families.

What We’ve Done Since Forming in 2021
DEIB Plan and Team developed; a plan established and a team that meets monthly
Empathy Conversations with more than 100 families; annual conversations collect feedback and input from families, students and staff on how to make Southmoor a better place
Southmoor Food Pantry launched and running; serving 10-13 families per year
Multicultural Night, Carnival, Family Board Game Nights, etc. events; advised planning to promote equity and inclusivity
